About Sihanoukville and Beaches

         Sihanouk Ville is the  only international deep seaport City of The Kingdom of Cambodia, thus it  stands on the third City among the triangle strategy Cities of development Plan of the Royal Gorvenment of The Kingdom of Cambodia (Phnom Penh the Capital City stands the first and Siam Reap City stands the second). Early year 2010 Sihanoukville city had been changed to Preah Sihanouk Province and the Government has enlarged its territory larger then before ie the East bordered Pich nil District of Kompong Spoe Province and former Koh Kong’s Kompongsela became one of the Preah Sihanouk Province’s district as well as Sre Ambil District at the northern, So this Preah Sihanouk Province becomes one  among the four beautiful Coastal Provinces of Cambodia,  located  between Koh Kong and Kampot province, sits in the center of a small peninsula lined with several white- sand beaches that juts  into the deep  sea- waters of the Gulf of Thailand. and those  white- sand beaches are the part of the  attractive visiting destinations for local and foreign visitors. Among those white-sand beaches, The Ochheuteal and Serendipity Beaches are the near,  easy accessible from town and the most  popular longest beaches (about 3 Km long) line with  little thatch roofed beach bars and seafood shacks serving  cold drinks, beach umbrellas and chairs, surrounded by hotels, guesthouses, bungalows with room rate range from $80 to $3 along with plenty of options for dinning and evening parties bars and restaurants, water sports are very popular at these beaches.      

Ochheuteal and Serendipity Beaches .

Otres Beach
The Beach at the South of Ochheuteal Beach is Otres Beach. And the name of Otres Beach comes from a village that this beach stretches along. Travelers would find it a bit rough if  wish to reach this beach by any means transport along a crescent 3 Km dirt rough  Road from Ochheuteal beach but if travels need no visiting country like life of the Otres villagers, the fast any easy excess to this beach is keep going South 1.5 Km straight away from sandy beach of Ochheuteal up over The Queen Hill to reach the same destination beach in just about 15mns walk but when traveling along this sandy beach, travelers would probably need to relax for a while on the hilltop. from this hilltop travelers could see a very romantic Queen hill Resort and overlooking  a long white sand beach with a long string of thatch roofed beach bars of Ochheuteal and Otres beaches with full scenery of Sihaoukville downtown especially a chain of blue mountains. this is not mentioned about Crystal sparkling water clear from top to rock and sand bottom of the sea. But unfortunatly Otres is far less developed and popular than Ochheuteal, offering a more leisurely, relaxed atmosphere. There are no hotels, spas or large restaurants on Otres, just a string of beach-shack bars, restaurants and bungalows on the sand, stretched thinly along the length of the beach with more clustered at the near end than the far. Bare in mind that the seclusion and lack of development that affords Otres its tranquil atmosphere also limits some services. After dark it can be difficult to travel between Otres and town and many places have electricity only for a few hours a day, usually in the early evening.

Sokha Beach
(dragon tail beach called by young people in Sihanoukville) eventhough this beach is occupied by Sokha Beach Resort but it still remains open for public as well as guests of the resort. The Sokha Beach Resort offers beachside luxury accommodation. Sokha is a beautiful beach, a crescent of sand  located about one kilometer from Sihanouville downtown and comparatively wide so that there is plenty of sand left during high tide. The fine off-white sand is perfectly groomed these days, but the beach is fairly quiet by comparison to nearby Ochheuteal and Serendipity, frequented primarily but Sokha resort guests. There aren’t any little seafood shacks on Sokha like the other beaches but a series of gazebos and upscale beach bars/restaurants run by the Sokha Beach Resort.
